At National Fuel, we constantly strive to take care of our neighbors and the communities we serve. If you or someone you know is struggling to pay heating bills, we urge you to contact us at 1-800-365-3234 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. There are many support programs and payment options available.
Discount for eligible residential customers
National Fuel representatives will be available at various community events to answer questions about billing or payment assistance programs.
If you need help paying your heating bills, HEAP can help. This federally funded program provides assistance to eligible customers.
Qualifying individuals or families may receive a one-time grant per program year.
Safeguards exist for New York customers who reside in households where all residents are age 62 or older, 18 or younger, blind or disabled.
We have several ways for you to pay your monthly gas bill.
An extra measure of security for uninterrupted gas service is provided to allow for timely payment upon income check arrivals and avoidance of late payment charges.

You can designate a third party to be notified in case you forget to pay your gas bills. The designated third party is not responsible for paying your bill.
If you are anticipating a hospital stay of 10 days or more, call us and we’ll tell you how to extend the due date of your gas bill by 30 days.
If we’re unable to resolve your payment problems, we will work together with social service agencies to help determine if public programs may assist you.
The New York State Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) will provide significant economic relief to help low and moderate-income households at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing rental arrears, temporary rental assistance and utility arrears assistance.
Did you know there are no-cost energy-efficient solutions for those who meet certain income guidelines? EmPower+, previously NYS’s Low Income Usage Reduction Program, can provide you assistance.

Sealed covers the upfront costs for upgrades that improve home energy efficiency through weatherization, climate control and energy waste reduction. Homeowners then pay back Sealed based on how much energy their homes save.
